Lesson 1: Taxi Part 1

MC HotDog is a Taiwanese rap artist known for his use of explicit lyrics in his songs. Some consider his music to present a gritty, realistic picture of life.

In this song, "Taxi," MC Hotdog acts out the story of a drunk man who's robbed by a Taxi driver.  I chose this song for two reasons:
  1. To expose your ears to tonally consistent Mandarin rap. You may not understand anything the artist is saying, but each time you listen to the song you are familiarizing yourself with the natural rhythm and tonal cadence of Mandarin.
  2. To give you something simple to review the syllables your learned in the primer. The Chorus of this song is rhythmically simple and easy to learn.  Furthermore, the addition of melody makes the tones inconsistent with the tonality of real speech, so you need not worry about that either.
